Appearance
Monstera deliciosa, also known as the Fruit Salad Plant, is a striking evergreen with large, glossy green leaves that develop unique natural splits as they mature. This fast-growing plant adds a bold, tropical look to any space.
Use
Monstera plants are perfect for indoor decoration, patios, and shaded garden areas. Their lush, architectural foliage makes them an excellent statement plant in homes, offices, and tropical gardens.
Preferred Climate
Monstera deliciosa thrives in warm, humid climates but can adapt to cooler regions if protected from frost. It grows well in tropical, subtropical, and temperate areas of Australia.
Best Position and Soil Type
Plant in bright, indirect light indoors or dappled shade outdoors. Monstera plants prefer well-draining, rich organic soil with good moisture retention but do not tolerate waterlogging.
Mature Height and Width
Monstera deliciosa can grow up to 2–3 metres indoors and even larger outdoors, with a spread of up to 2 metres, making it ideal for climbing or trailing growth.
Care
These young tubestock plants require regular watering until established. Once mature, monstera plants prefer moderate watering, occasional misting for humidity, and support like stakes or trellises to encourage upward growth.
