Midyim Berry Bushtucker Plants Austromyrtus dulcis

Appearance: Midyim berry plants (Austromyrtus dulcis) are small, bushy shrubs with dense, glossy green foliage attractive burgundy coloured new growth.  They produce small white flowers that are followed by blue grey edible berries.  These are one of the best tasting bushtucker plant species. 

Use: These plants are ideal for ornamental gardens and edible landscapes.  The berries are perfect for fresh eating, making jams, and adding to desserts.

Preferred Climate: Midyim berries thrive in tropical to subtropical climates. They can tolerate light frost but prefer warmer temperatures.

Best Position and Soil Type: They prefer a sunny to partly shaded position and grow best in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter.

Mature Height and Width: At maturity, Midyim berry plants reach a height and width of 1m

Care: These plants require regular watering, especially during dry periods. They benefit from occasional pruning to maintain shape and encourage new growth, and an annual application of balanced, slow-release fertilizer.
